Real and imagined barriers have isolated countries like Afghanistan, Yemen, Mali and Iraq from international trade and tourism. The result is that pathways to some of the world&rsquo;s most extraordinary places, people and cultures have narrowed, or in some cases, disappeared altogether. ISHKAR works with partners from across the world to restore these pathways once again through a unique blend of craftsmanship, storytelling and travel. The Ushak II carpet is inspired by heritage Afghan rugs complete with a semi antique finish. Hand-knotted by talented weavers in Afghanistan, each rug is made to order and takes around 4-6 months to produce.
