You can register for your gift list online, in one of our showrooms or via the app. Registering for your list is free, and you’ll receive your own personal Gift Guru who will make sure that you never feel overwhelmed – just inspired. Once you’ve registered, you can start to add gifts straight away, select a profile image, choose a background and add a welcome message to make your list your own!
We’re proud to provide a completely free of charge service to our couples, including storing your gifts for up to six months and two free deliveries in the UK at a time that suits you. There is a 2% handling fee for guests pledging money to any wedding gift cash funds or honeymoon contributions, but that’s it – other than that it won’t cost a penny. We recommend that you should aim to publish your gift list before you send out your wedding invitations. We provide complimentary cards that you can include within your invitations to let your guests know where to find your gift list. We know how busy planning a wedding can be, so we offer a flexible and personal service giving you the freedom to set up your wedding list whenever you like, from over a year before the wedding to the very last minute. You can even manage and change your list right up to your wedding day!
Yes - we know it’s important to you to feel assured that all monies pledged by your guests are 100% secure. So, at The Wedding Shop we have established a separate Trust Account to hold the pledged monies to your wedding gift list. This means that you can have complete peace of mind, happy in the knowledge that whatever you choose to add to your list, it will always be honored in full. This level of financial security is unique to us and there isn’t a safer place in the UK and Ireland to have your list. Our website also uses SSL encryption technology so that you and your guests can be confident that all your credit card transactions are completely secure.
Some of our couples like to register for more than one gift list service. However, having multiple gift lists might get confusing for your guests. We are confident that at The Wedding Shop our service covers all your gift list needs. You can add unlimited items from our Branded Partners, up to ten Custom Products from any other UK retailers, plus include Cash funds, Honeymoon Contributions, Experiences and Charity Donations all in one list. We work with over 450 Brand Partners providing thousands of products and experiences for you to choose from. Don’t let our selection limit you - if there’s something you’d like to choose that we don’t feature on our website, you can add up to ten Custom Products from any other UK retailer to your list. All product prices are set at the recommended retail price, so that you can be confident that you and your guests are getting value for money.
When you build your gift list, we recommend that you don’t limit yourself, or your guests with your selection – make sure that you add enough gifts from plenty of price points so that you don’t run out of choice! Remember to add more items to your list than your number of guests. If there’s a gift that you really want, you can always put this at the top of your list so that your guests see this first.
When you’ve registered, you can easily add gifts from our website onto your list by clicking ‘ADD TO LIST’. We work with over 450 Brand Partners providing thousands of products and experiences for you to choose from, but if you’re having trouble finding a gift on our website, then your Gift Guru will be happy to help.
We are also the only UK wedding gift list service to have an App, letting you manage your list easily and add gifts on the move using the barcode scanner.
It’s important that your gift list reflects your personality as a couple. You can add your photo to your list, include a background image, write a personal message to your guests and even include notes on the gifts you have chosen explaining why you love them! You can move the order of the items around on your list and highlight the gifts that you would really like to receive.
Yes, simply ask your Gift Guru and they’ll be happy to set this up for you.
Yes, we offer group gifting giving you the confidence to add higher-priced items and your guests the option of contributing towards part of a gift. Guests can rest assured their donation won’t go unnoticed - they can also leave a personalised message when Group Gifting. If the item is not fully purchased by the time you close your list, you have the option of using money pledged for another gift towards the cost, or even choose to top it up yourselves (with 20% discount on your first order). Alternatively, you can always choose to use the money to purchase another Branded Product if you’ve changed your mind. See our T&Cs for more information.
There’s the option of including a Wedding Shop Gift Card on your gift list that your guests can pledge money towards. This gift card can be used to purchase items offered by any of our 450 Brand Partners. If you do not want the gift card on your list, then you can always choose to remove this.
HONEYMOON & PERSONALISED FUNDS
If sitting down to dinner in Rome features higher on your personal wish list than a breadboard, then at The Wedding Shop you can ask wedding guests to make honeymoon and minimoon donations via your list. We already have a fabulous range of honeymoon experiences, from sailing trips to jungle treks, which have all been curated by our team to inspire you, or you can create your very own personal honeymoon fund using your own images and ideas! We do not charge our couples for including honeymoon funds, however there is a 2% handling fee to guests pledging money to any honeymoon contributions. See our T&Cs for more information.
Perhaps you’re saving for a new kitchen or maybe you need a little extra help towards buying the home of your dreams? You can set up a Personalised Fund that’s entirely unique to you and ask your guests to contribute towards it. We do not charge our couples for including a Personalised Fund however there is a 2% handling fee to guests pledging money to any personalised funds. See our T&Cs for more information.
CHARITY DONATION FUNDS
You can also add a charity donation fund that’s close to your heart. Your chosen charity will receive 100% of pledged funds, which will be donated directly to them. You cannot request the money once guests have pledged to your chosen charity. Naturally there is no 2% handling fee to guests on charity lists and we offer the option to add gift aid on donations.
We want you to have the list of your dreams. If there’s something else that you’d like to add to your list that you can’t find from our Brand Partners you can choose up to ten gifts from any other UK retailer and we’ll add them on! You have the option of adding a Custom Product to your list from your dashboard, by selecting “ADD GIFTS TO YOUR LIST” and entering the product’s URL. When you add a Custom Product, it will be in a “pending” state for up to 3 working days whilst we confirm the item is eligible to add to your list. Once confirmed, this will no longer be pending and will be visible to guests when your list is published. If we’re able to source this product from one of the brands that we work with, we’ll add this to your gift list as a Branded Product and it will be included in your delivery once you’ve finalised your order.
As Custom Products are from outside our Brand Partner offering, any money pledged towards these will be credited to your Wedding Shop account that you can then withdraw and spend directly with your retailer of choice.
ACCESSING MY FUNDS
Accessing funds pledged towards Honeymoon, Personalised Funds or Custom Product is simple. Email the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll arrange the transfer of your funds for you:
- First line of the address and postcode used to register your account (for your security)
- Account holder name
- Account number
- Sort code
You can then expect to see your funds available within your account in two working days. It's as easy as that!
PUBLISHING YOUR LIST
When you are ready, simply log into your account and click PUBLISH YOUR LIST to make it visible to your guests. Once published, you’ll be able to share your unique URL with guests so that they can easily purchase your gifts. We also provide complimentary insert cards that you can include within your invitations to let guests know where to find your gift list.
Your guests can purchase a gift via our website or they can call a member of our sales team on 020 7384 8400 or email@example.com who will be happy to guide them through your gift list. Choosing a gift should be fun and stress free, so we make sure that your guests are delighted with the gift they choose for you.
You will automatically be notified by email every time a gift is purchased for you, but if you would like to keep this a surprise you can ask us to turn off these notifications. We also include all purchase information in our handy Thank You Manager, so you’ll have a record of who purchased what, perfect for when you come to writing your Thank You cards.
ORDERING YOUR GIFTS
We pride ourselves on offering a truly flexible service, so we don’t place any orders with our suppliers until we receive your confirmed gift selection.
To place your order, log into your account and click on ‘PLACE AN ORDER’.
Sometimes gifts become discontinued by our suppliers, so to avoid any disappointment we recommend placing your orders as soon as possible after your wedding date. We will then store these items for you in our warehouse until you request a delivery.
If a Branded Product on your list becomes discontinued by one of our suppliers, we’ll let you know as soon as possible so you can choose an alternative. If the discontinued item has already been ordered, we will credit your account and you can choose to spend the money on another item from our Brand Partners. To avoid any disappointment, we recommend placing your order as soon as possible – especially for any gifts that you really want.
Prices for Branded Products are set at the recommended retail price, but occasionally prices may change. Should the price change for a Branded Product on your Gift List, we will hold the price that a guest has paid for one month after your wedding date.

Yes of course! You can use money pledged towards any gift (excluding charity) to put towards another Branded Product, even if it wasn’t originally on your list.
Unfortunately, we do not allow gifts to be swapped for cash refunds.
Maybe you’re moving home or taking time off to travel? Whatever you have planned, if you’re not quite ready to order your gifts your balance will remain on your account until you are ready to place your order
That’s what we like to hear! We offer 20% off should you wish to top up your first order, plus a lifetime discount of 10% on items from our 450 Brand Partners. Perfect for anniversary or birthday gifts!
It’s up to you, but we would recommend keeping your Gift List open until you return from your honeymoon. Your gift list will automatically close three months after your wedding date, however there’s the option to keep your list open for longer if you wish.
We do not hold stock of gifts, but instead place orders with our individual suppliers once you have placed your order. We therefore quote 4-6 weeks for your wedding gifts to arrive in our warehouse from the time you place your order, although many items may arrive sooner. Some of our brands make to order, or may be based abroad, and therefore will have longer lead times.
You can easily track your order by clicking on ‘TRACK YOUR ORDERS’ where you will be able to see what gifts have arrived in our warehouse. You can choose to receive multiple deliveries if this is more convenient.
We include two free deliveries within the UK, including a Saturday service. Please note, for some larger, heavier items such as furniture we’re unable to guarantee free delivery. If you have any questions, your Gift Guru will be happy to help.
We’ll always try our best to include as many gifts as possible as part of our two free complimentary deliveries. However, for some items such as furniture we’re unable to guarantee free delivery. If you have any questions, your Gift Guru will be happy to help.
How exciting for you both, we can certainly help you with that. Once your gifts have arrived safely in our warehouse, we will provide you with shipping quotes and can either deliver your gifts to you via our nominated freight forwarder, or we can deliver them to a freight company of your choice. You will be entitled to a UK VAT refund if we are shipping your goods overseas. Local duties and VAT will be payable by you on import and you will be contacted by our carrier to arrange payment.
Yes, we have a fully insured warehouse where we can store your gifts for up to 6 months free of charge until you are ready for delivery. After this time, we reserve the right to charge a fee of £10 per box per month.
RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
We unfortunately do not accept return requests for any unwanted gifts once these have been delivered, except for any damaged or faulty gifts or items that differ from their advertised description.
You can benefit from any warranties or guarantees that are offered directly by the Brand. When you receive your order, we recommend that you take the time to register your products for any guarantees directly with the Brand. Details of how to do this are included in the product packaging.
Whilst we do everything that we can to avoid any damages, should you receive any items within your delivery that are damaged or faulty, please ensure that you contact us within seven days of receipt, with the following information:
- Your full name
- Address your gift list is registered to
- Details of the item that is damaged or faulty, including photographs
- We will then respond with the next steps as soon as possible.
Breakages happen, and the odd dinner party can often end up with a few broken glasses. When you have your list with The Wedding Shop, you’re a friend for life and we would be more than happy to help you replace any broken items which you can order with a 10% lifetime discount from any of our 450 Brand Partners.
Absolutely. We have couples based all over the world and can ship your gifts to you wherever you are based.
Our UK website is priced in £. We currently do not price our products in other currencies, but guests can make purchases using their bank cards in the normal way and the conversion rate will be handled by their bank. We do not charge any additional fees for handling different currencies, but their own banks may do so.

COVID-19 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - Financial Stability
We would like to reassure you that all monies pledged by your guests are 100% secure. Any monies pledged are held in a separate Trust Account, giving you the peace of mind and confidence to know that any money pledged by your guests is entirely safe.
SMALL AND MULTIPLE CELEBRATION WEDDINGS
We are so sorry to hear that you are having to change your plans, however we have no doubt your wedding will still be amazing! If you are having a smaller wedding and have already sent your wedding gift list details out to your original guest list, we recommend that you still keep your list live for your guests to access. Some of our couples who have already gone ahead with a smaller wedding have found that guests who are unable to attend have still wished to purchase a gift to send their love to the couple, even though they cannot be physically present. Our advice would be to bear this in mind when building your list to make sure there is enough choice and variety of price points for everyone.
If you are having a smaller wedding and are yet to send out your gift list details, we recommend that you send the details to your guests who are still able to attend as you would in usual circumstances. Whilst you may not want to share details with friends and family who are not able to attend your special day due to current circumstances, we have found that people still want to gift something as a way of sending their well wishes and being a part of your celebration. To help guests in this position you may decide you want to include your gift list details on your wedding website or virtual invite, along with the zoom link for those not making a physical presence.

Absolutely! We pride ourselves on our flexibility and can help you plan for any eventuality.
We recommend keeping your gift list live for both occasions and changing your wedding date in your account to your second celebration once the first has passed. Don’t worry if you don’t have an exact date for your second celebration, you can just add a temporary date until you have confirmed your plans. You will find that lots of guests who are unable to attend your initial wedding due to the current circumstances, will still want to gift you something to celebrate your marriage, even if they cannot be physically present. To amend your occasion date, simply head to 'settings' and change your occasion date under 'Wedding Details.'

Of course! You can decide exactly how to proceed after your first celebration. You may find you want to start receiving some of the generous gifts your guests have bought, or you may choose to wait until after your second celebration to finalise everything. With both these options, you can still keep your list open and available to your guests. Whatever you decide, we are here to help make sure your delivery day is super special. We are so sorry to hear that you are having to postpone your wedding. We want to do everything we can to make this process as smooth as possible. If your guests have already started purchasing gifts, the money pledged is safe in a ring-fenced account. If you have a new wedding date, you can amend this on our website and the balance on your account will remain unchanged. All the details of your account will also remain the same, so when you are ready, you can continue to add to your original list. To amend your occasion date, simply head to 'settings' and change your occasion date under 'Wedding Details.'

You can put a placeholder future date in for now so that you keep all the hard work you have put into building your gift list. We are so sorry to hear you are considering cancelling your wedding. Where possible, we recommend putting a placeholder future date against your wedding list rather than cancelling it. This will ensure that you can still access your list should the wedding date be postponed, and all gifts originally chosen will be saved.

Building Your List
Yes, you can absolutely continue to build your gift list with us. You're able to build your list entirely online from the comfort of your home or you can book an appointment to come and visit us in one of our showrooms when they open or, opt for a virtual appointment. You also have the option to use our app.
Placing & Tracking Orders
Yes! You are still able to place your order via our website or with the help of your Gift Guru.
Whilst nearly all our suppliers are still providing deliveries, we are experiencing delays with these deliveries into our warehouse with our lead times now being 8-12 weeks. You can track your orders online via your online account and we will be doing everything we can to get your gifts to you as speedily as possible.
This delay is due to the impact of COVID-19. Some brands have had their supply chains interrupted, whilst others have seen an unprecedented increase in demand due to changing consumer habits - including an increase in kitchen accessories and garden furniture. This has resulted in a temporary delay in orders, impacting our delivery times.
We wanted to reassure you that our commitment to delivering your gifts remains as strong as ever. We are doing everything we can to bring any delayed deliveries forward. To help at this time. we're happy to offer you an additional free delivery, enabling you to receive any gifts that are already in our warehouse sooner. This means that we'll send any delayed gifts to you free of charge.
Plus, should you be affected by these delays, you also have the option to swap your gifts for an alternative from one of our Brand Partners. Simply get in touch, and we'll be happy to help.
Prior to reopening our warehouse we have been working hard behind the scenes to put new systems and safety measures into place. We know that wedding guests are also feeling the strain of Coronavirus during this unsettling time. Rest assured, your money is completely protected and guaranteed. The money that you pledge against gifts on a couples' list is held in a separate Trust Account. This account is 100% ring-fenced and separate from our company's bank account.
Duty of Care to Staff
The health and wellbeing of our customers and staff is our utmost priority. We've been taking the necessary steps, following government guidelines to protect both our employees and couples that use our service. We have been working hard behind the scenes to put new systems and safety measures into place in our warehouse. We are happy with how this new set-up is working and, most importantly, so are our teams.
