Following on from the huge Greenery colour trend from 2017, colourful accents of leafy avocado and emerald green will still be big for 2018. Statement florals are also set to stay, however, they will be taking on a more vibrant tropical twist with a focus on oversized foliage prints and cactuses.
Deluxe 2018 Colour of the year is a warm neutral called ‘Heart Wood’. It is a cosy tone with a hint of heather and dusty mauve. 2018 focuses on making our home a sanctuary, creating a cosy inviting space which shuts out the chaos of the outside world.
Raw materials was a big trend for 2017, but we now see it filtering into a bigger trend for concrete. From decorative accessories such as clocks and planters through to bathroom sinks and statement concrete walls. The grey textural finish of concrete is the perfect complement to the warm neutral shades.
Pantone Colour Institute announced ‘Ultra Violet’ as the Colour of The Year for 2018. Described as “a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade that helps communicate originality, ingenuity and artistic brilliance.” The colour is associated with mindfulness and should help stimulate an awareness of our surroundings.
Marble, velvet and brass accents will be big style trends adding a touch of luxury to the popular scandi style. Think dark moody walls, punctuated by pale marble side tables, and beautifully contrasted by brass objects. Add in fur throws, bold textures and prints to be really on trend in 2018.
