We advise you to finalise your wedding list prior
to your wedding invitations being sent out. However,
you are able to set up your wedding list as far in
advance of the wedding as you would like. Although
invitations are sent out traditionally around six
to eight weeks before the wedding date, nowadays couples
prefer to do this earlier. We would recommend that
you book your appointment well in advance of your
invitations being sent to ensure your list is ready
in time.

We normally recommend that you meet with your consultant
twice. Once may be enough, but you are making decisions
on the things you’ll be living with for many years,
so it is important to make sure you’re making the
right choices. Your consultant will run through an
extensive check list with you, which will ensure that
nothing is left off your list when you come to choose
all the presents. Many couples are surprised at the
number of things they would never have thought of.

Yes, absolutely. More and more people are getting
married and combining two homes into one, so this
is quite a common request. You can add vouchers from
The Wedding Shop onto your list and alternatively
we can create bespoke vouchers for you so that your
guests can contribute towards certain specific items
on your list.
Once you are happy with your list, you simply tell
your consultant and they will make the list visible
to your guests.
Yes, absolutely. Most suppliers provide recommended
retail prices and we adhere to these prices as do
most other retailers. Additionally, if you purchase
extra items from your list we will give you a 10%
discount.
There is no charge to setup your wedding list with
us.
We provide small notification cards (UK and International)
free of charge that discreetly advise where you have
placed your wedding list. These cards may be inserted
in the wedding invitations together with the usual
enclosures. Alternatively, you could include the details
on your own wedding information or website. We have
found that most guests really appreciate this.
Your guests can purchase their gift via our website,
www.weddingshop.com/guests, where they will also be
able to view images of the items you have selected.
This is particularly helpful for overseas guests.
They may also telephone our sales office or visit
one of our showrooms in person. A copy of your list
may also be emailed, faxed or posted to your guests.
We have a wide range of payment options for your guests
to choose from including all major credit and debit
cards, including American Express.
Our website uses SSL encryption technology to ensure
all credit card transactions are completely secure.
In addition to an emailed weekly update, which will
include any personal messages from your guests, you
can view the progress of your list 24 hours per day
on our website. You will be given a password enabling
you to do this at the time of registration.
Absolutely, the list is completely flexible until
you confirm your final order of presents after the
wedding. After your return from honeymoon we will
forward you a summary of all the gifts that have been
selected from your wedding list. You may wish to order
your gifts exactly as your guests have selected them
or you may prefer to make some changes i.e. not going
ahead with some items and crediting them towards others
on your list. This can be useful to complete services
of china, cutlery and glass. Should you choose to
do some additional purchasing from your wedding list,
we will be pleased to offer you a 10% discount.
We can be flexible and work around your timescales
by either delaying the order or storing the items
for you until you are ready to receive them.
In order to allow flexibility on the final selection
of presents, we don’t order your gifts when your guests
purchase them but wait until we have received confirmation
of your order after your wedding. It is only then
that we order the gifts from our suppliers on your
behalf. You will receive two complimentary deliveries
within London arranged on a date and at a time to
suit you. The first delivery is on average eight weeks
from the time of placing your order.
In order for The Wedding Shop to be able to offer
the tens of thousands of products available from all
our brands and give you more choice than a traditional
department store, the orders we place with our suppliers
are made specifically on behalf of our customers.
To give you the flexibility to change things around
and make up sets after the wedding, we need to wait
until then to place the order. Many of our suppliers,
particularly the tableware companies don’t carry vast
quantities of stock, so they start production only
when we place the order. So there is a wait, but it
is definitely worth it!
Yes, if you are living overseas, we can provide an
export packing service. We are able to provide you
with shipping quotes and can deliver your gifts to
our nominated freight forwarder or a carrier of your
choice. You will also be entitled to a VAT refund
if delivery is outside of the EU.
Yes. As a customer of The Wedding Shop you will be
eligible for a Privilege Card giving you a lifetime
discount of 10% on all future purchases*.

By using our own driver and delivery van in London, we have greater control of deliveries during the day and on Saturdays.
